Short n' Sweet is the sixth studio album by American singer Sabrina Carpenter. It was released on August 23, 2024, through Island Records. The record, marking Carpenter's second album with the record label after emails i can't send (2022). A pop album with country, rock and R&B influences, Short n' Sweet was produced by Jack Antonoff, John Ryan and Ian Kirkpatrick amongst others. Released on April 11, 2024, “Espresso” became an “instant classic” and achieved commercial success when it debuted at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the week of April 27, 2024, marking her first top 10 song as well as her highest debut on the chart to date. It also earned her first top-ten single on the Billboard Global 200 chart and her first number one on the Global Excl. US. It also topped the charts in Australia, Ireland, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Elsewhere, it peaked within the top 10 in Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Following the commercial success of “Espresso”, the singer announced her upcoming sixth studio album Short n' Sweet via social media on June 3, 2024. And in turn, she promised an upcoming surprise for her fans, which would turn out to be the single “Please Please Please”, released on June 6, 2024, which like its predecessor, had a very good reception from critics and listeners and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in its first week, and also reached high positions on international charts such as: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Iceland, Canada, United Kingdom, among others.
And the last promotional single, “Taste” which was released alongside the album release on August 23, 2024. Along with a music video starring herself and actress Jenna Ortega, Directed by Dave Meyers taking reference and making her own version of the film Death Becomes Her (1992).
